QLatvia is the Hadamard of the entangled QCousins. We, as QLatvia, took leading and active roles in the establishment and development of QWorld in 2019 & 2020.
QLatvia was initiated by Abuzer Yakaryilmaz in September 2018 as a quantum software group. With the preparation of the tutorial Bronze and organizing the first QBronze workshops, QLatvia started to focus on creating an international initiative.
In 2019, we implemented QDrive project from May to July by driving more than 10.000 km across Europe and organized 11 workshops in 8 different countries with 209 handed out diplomas. (The QDrive team was formed by Abuzer Yakaryilmaz, Maksims Dimitrijevs, Aleksejs Naumovs, and Agnieszka Wolska.) The first five QCousins were formed by the end of QDrive project and QWorld had its first concrete form. After the QDrive project, Maksims also became the coordinator of QLatvia.
QLatvia is based in the Center for Quantum Computer Science (Faculty of Computing, University of Latvia) directed by Prof. Andris Ambainis, who has been significantly supporting QLatvia and its activities.
The details about our previous activities in 2018 and 2019 can be found on qsoftware.lu.lv.
