
QBronze195 | Quantum Computing and Programming Workshop, July 14-20, 2026
We are pleased to announce the second QBronze Quantum Programming Workshop in Nepal! Join us for the introductory workshop “Quantum Computing and Programming” and learn the basics of quantum computing and how to write simple quantum programs. The workshop is co-organized by Kathmandu University Society of Applied Physics (KUSAP) and Nepalese Society of Student Researchers (NSSR), and will be held in a hybrid format, with onsite participation at Kathmandu University (Dhulikhel, Nepal) as well as online.
We invite high school students, university students, graduates, researchers, and professors who are interested in diving into the world of quantum computing. We will use introductory tutorials called Bronze-Qiskit by QWorld. Discord will be our primary mode of communication and the workshop will be conducted through Zoom. Jupyter notebooks, Zoom lectures, and mentoring sessions will be conducted in English language.
We will assign daily problem sets via Qworld’s Canvas (five problemsets, worth 100 pts). The participants who successfully complete themwith at least 50% per problem set and an average score of 75 pts in totalwill be awarded their diplomas!
This course is self-paced, and participants may watch lecture videos and complete the tasks by themselves. Mentoring support will be available throughout the workshop. The workshop will run over seven days, featuring 7-hour daily sessions from July 14–15 onsite, followed by 2-hour daily mentor sessions from July 16-20 online.

The participants are expected to work individually at least 16 hours to complete the following sections of Bronze-Qiskit: basics of classical systems, basics of quantum systems, basic quantum operators, quantum correlation and quantum protocols, and quantum search algorithm.

This tutorial is a collection of Jupyter notebooks, and each notebook has a pre-recorded lecture. We will Python to solve the tasks and Qiskit library to code quantum programs.
The participants should have basic knowledge of at least one programming language, and they should make themselves familiar with Python before the workshop. We will share the installation instructions and a practice notebooks on basics of mathematics.
Why Attend the Onsite Sessions?
The onsite workshop is especially valuable for participants who are new to quantum computing. You will begin from the fundamentals, including basic linear algebra, introductory quantum mechanics, and Python programming, before moving into quantum circuits and quantum programming.
Participants will also:

- Directly interact with researchers and quantum computing enthusiasts
- A live installation guide of the necessary software will be provided.
- Learn about the history and future prospects of quantum computing
- Build a stronger foundation before beginning the self-paced QBronze curriculum

FAQ
Q: Who can participate in this workshop?
A: Anyone interested in quantum computing is welcome! The workshop is designed for high school students, university students, graduates, researchers, professors, and industry professionals.
Q: I don’t know anything about Quantum Mechanics. Can I still join?
A: Yes! The QBronze curriculum starts from the absolute basics—beginning with classical bit systems and probabilistic coin-flipping before easing into quantum concepts.
Q: What hardware/software do I need?
A: You will need a computer (Laptop/Desktop) with a stable internet connection. We will be using Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and the Qiskit library. and mentors will be available to help you troubleshoot your setup.
Q: What does ‘hybrid format’ mean?
A: The workshop is conducted both onsite at KU, Dhulikhel, on July 14 and 15. Also, online sessions will be conducted from July 16 to 20. You can choose either of them.
Q: How long would the workshop last?
A: The onsite workshop is for two days, 7 hours each day, with tea and lunch break. Online sessions are two hours each day for five days.
Q: Can I attend online sessions even if I take an onsite workshop?
A: Yes, the meeting link will be provided on Discord too.
