QTraining for Bronze is an internal 2-week training program for Bronze, the introductory tutorial of QWorld. The main aim of the program is to train mentors who will do mentoring later on in QBronze workshops organized by their groups, by the other QCousins, or by QWorld. 

The prerequisite is having basic knowledge of quantum computing or participating in one of the previous QBronze. 

Please be aware that this program is only for people who are interested in being mentors and educators. We expect the trained people to do mentoring later on in QBronze workshops. 

Outcome

31 participants from 11 countries completed our training program successfully:

18 participants completed our tutorial Bronze for the first time, and so, they also received their QBronze workshop diplomas.

Outline

Week 1 – Revising Bronze

In the first week of the program, participants complete the Bronze material (even if they have completed before) in a critical manner, with keeping in mind possible improvements and extensions. Online mentor support is provided for the participants during the first week.

As a part of the training program, participants will be preparing and submitting questions about Bronze:

• At least one question per notebook
• At least two generic questions per section

The expected time to complete the revision: Up to 20 hours.

Suggested working plan:

Day 1: Basics of Classical Systems

Day 2: Basics of Quantum Systems 

Day 3: Quantum Operators on a Real Valued Qubit + multi-qubits

Day 4: Superdense coding and quantum teleportation

Day 5: Grover’s Search

Week 2 – Preparation for the Final Q/A Session

Each participant will be associated with a group. Both, individuals and groups, will be assigned with a certain number of questions. Some answers should be prepared individually and some should be prepared as a group. The answers should be prepared as Jupyter notebooks.

Each participant is encouraged to ask help within the group when preparing their individual answers.

There will be the best groups awards (selected by the organizers).

Code of Conduct

Our event is dedicated to providing a harassment-free workshop experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any event venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media. Event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event.

We respect the minors (children under age 18) and we must make every effort to protect their rights. All private relationships, private communications (including social media channels), or sexual contacts with minors are prohibited.

The default communication channel between the organizers and participants is e-mail. Except filing the application form, the contact info of any attendee or participant cannot be requested by any person from organizer side (i.e., mentor, educator, speaker, organizer, sponsor, or volunteer). On the other hand, any person from organizer side may share his or her contact info with a participant who is not a minor, upon request by the participant.
