QBronze134 | Quantum Computing and Programming Workshop | May 21-25, 2024

QBronze134 | Quantum Computing and Programming Workshop | May 21-25, 2024

We are inviting high school students, university and graduate students, researchers, professors, and working people to learn the basics of quantum computing and how to write simple quantum programs.

Join us in the introductory workshop “Quantum Computing and Programming” by QTunisia to understand the science behind quantum computing and develop your first quantum algorithms on IBM Qiskit platform. During the workshop, we will use the introductory tutorial Bronze-Qiskit by QWorld. The educational materials are in English, but the language of training and mentoring will be Tunisian Arabic. We will use the Discord to conduct the workshop and we will have daily Zoom meetings.

The participants completing the workshop successfully will receive a diploma!

Participants will be watching the lecture videos and completing the tasks on their own. Mentor support will be provided for participants to ask their questions and share their progress with the mentors. The workshop will be held over 5 days, with a total of 10 hours of training.

Quantum Workshop Schedule

Day 1 | 21.05.2024 (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM) CAT
One Bit | Coin Flipping | Coin Flipping Game | Probabilistic States | Probabilistic Operators | Two Probabilistic Bits

Day 2 | 22.05.2024 (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM) CAT
Quantum Coin Flipping | First Quantum Programs with Qiskit | ,Hadamard Operator | One Qubit | Quantum State | Superposition and Measurement | Visualization of a (Real-Valued) Qubit

Day 3 | 23.05.2024 (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM) CAT
Operations on the Unit Circle | Rotations | Reflections | Quantum Tomography | Two Qubits | Phase Kickback

Day 4 | 24.05.2024 (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM) CAT
Entanglement and Superdense Coding | Quantum Teleportation | Multiple Control Constructions

Day 5 | 25.05.2024 (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM) CAT Inversion About the Mean | Grover’s Search: One Qubit Representation | Grover’s Search: Implementation

The participants are expected to work individually at least 16 hours to complete the following sections of Bronze-Qiskit: basics of classical systems, basics of quantum systems, basic quantum operators, quantum correlation and quantum protocols, and quantum search algorithm.

The tutorial is a collection of Jupyter notebooks, and each notebook has a recorded lecture. We use python to solve the tasks and Qiskit library to code quantum programs. The participants should know at least one programming language, and they should make themselves familiar with Python before the workshop if they do not know Python. We will share the installation instructions and a few notebooks on basics of mathematics and participants should review them before the workshop starts.
